2. Internal and External Geodynamics - GEO 1
Objective:
- To improve knowledge in internal and external geodynamics in our environment with a variety of related science tools such as geomatics, geochemistry, geochronology, among others, oriented towards the solution of scientific, technological, and socio-economic problems, which may have a national, regional, or even global scope. The application of knowledge in geosciences to be able to effectively and efficiently manage geological hazards, hydrometeorological or oceanographic, apply their own designs of mitigation works to reduce vulnerabilities and potential risks.
- Monitor and measure natural phenomena to subsequently model them numerically and even on a small physical scale, to be able to interpolate the scope of various natural processes (including climate change) and their development in the short and medium term future.
- Understand and socialize the scope of threats of different origins (natural and anthropogenic) in order to apply fair, equitable and sustainable planning and territorial ordering.

Objective:
Develop research programs and projects pertinent to issues related to air, water and soil pollution according to the needs of the country and the region and that contribute to the prevention and control of pollution of our environment. To be a member of the Center for Environmental Studies of the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE. 8. Industrial Biotechnology - GBI
Objective:
Develop national and international projects related to the design and production of bioproducts as well as innovative production processes, with high added value, aimed at the development of the productive matrix in Ecuador. From the basic point of view, to study and understand at the molecular level different enzymatic mechanisms that may have industrial application. Disseminate the results at the highest level through the publication of scientific articles in journals of global impact as well as in the participation of scientific events of recognized world level. Actively participate in national and international research networks. Link research results with teaching to motivate student participation in research programs.
