Requirements Qualification
Below you can review the different degree requirements requested in the different forms of degree that can be applied for within the master’s degree programs.
STRUCTURE FOR PRESENTATION OF THE DEGREE PROJECT PROFILE
The project profile must have a maximum of 15 pages, containing the following indications:
- Subject of the degree project.
- Project manager(s).
- Line and sub-line of research.
- Name of the suggested project manager.
- Geographical location of the study and area of influence.
- Related or complementary projects (if any).
- Schedule of activities.
- Estimated duration of the project.
- Budget.
- Date of presentation.
- Specific Information.
- Theme.
- Problem.
- Theoretical framework of reference.
- Relevant methodology State of the art (Master’s Degrees in Research).
- Theoretical framework (professional master’s degrees: legal, epistemological, conceptual).
- Research methodology.
- Results.
- Discussion of results (Master’s Degrees in Research).
- Conclusions.
- Bibliographic references.
Once the profile is approved, the regulatory time that the student has to graduate corresponding to an academic period begins.
Once completed, it will be presented for review and approval prior to the opponent’s designation.
Once the opponent has been designated and the project has been finalized, reviewed and approved, a date and time will be set for the defense.
STRUCTURE FOR PRESENTING THE PROJECT PROFILE OF A SCIENTIFIC ARTICLE IN AN INDEXED JOURNAL
In two files, one in Word and the other in PDF, you must include the following documentation and in the sequence detailed below:
- Cover
- Urkund Tool Result Sheet (signed by the Degree Work Manager)
- Certification (take into account the new format, the topic and the name of the authors are in sentence format respecting the use of upper and lower case, you can use an electronic signature and if you do not have it you must print it, sign it, then scan it and finally include it in the document. Remember that the name of the University is “University of the Armed Forces ESPE, in addition the terms must be in the plural and feminine)
- Responsibility of Authorship (take into account the new format, the subject and the name of the author are in sentence type format respecting the use of upper and lower case, you can use an electronic signature and if you do not have it you must print it, sign it, then scan it and finally include it in the document, in addition the terms must be in plural and feminine)
- Publication Authorization (take into account the new format, the subject and the name of the author are in sentence format respecting the use of upper and lower case, you can use an electronic signature and if you do not have it you must print it, sign it, then scan it and finally include it in the document, in addition the terms must be in plural and feminine)
- Scientific article as it was approved.
- Defense Power Point file.
- Folder of Attachments (if any).
- Letter of acceptance of the journal.
- Abstract and Abstract in Word and PDF, in the heading of which it must include:
– Title
– Surnames, full names of the author and the Director of the degree project, as well as the respective emails.
– Date of publication of the scientific article.
– Web address of the scientific article indexed in the journal.

To opt for this modality, the student must have completed the current curriculum of their master’s program.
You must notify the program coordinator about the type of degree you will choose.
To take the exam, there will be two academic modules of preparation in virtual mode that are optional.
The exam consists of a theoretical test and a practical test through the resolution of a case.

Requirements Foreign Language
Second Language Requirement for Graduate Programs
All candidates for master’s degree programs at the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE must meet the requirement of proficiency in a foreign language. This requirement is mandatory in order to start fourth-level studies and must be verified as established by the Center for Graduate and Continuing Education (CEC).
Comply with the provisions of the Academic Regime Regulations, Art. 129.
Procedure for submitting the certificate
The language certificate must be submitted following the document recognition procedure issued by the CEC. It is important to note:
No application, payment, or admission to the BANNER academic system will be made as candidates to the program if the certificate has not been previously verified.
The authenticity of the document will be reviewed in accordance with the established guidelines.

Don't have the certificate? We explain your options
If you are fluent in the English language
In case the candidate has knowledge of the English language, but does not have an official certificate, he can take the Oxford Exam, which is recognized by the university and is international in nature
How it works:
He takes the exam at the Center for Graduate Studies and Continuing Education.
It is available every Friday.
The candidate obtains the level certificate in less than 10 days.

You don't have knowledge of a second language
For those candidates who do not have knowledge or a certificate, the master’s program coordinators have at their disposal the letter of commitment to deliver the certificate with which you can start your postgraduate studies while you are studying a second language program on your own and you will have a deadline to submit the certificate until you start your degree unit.
You’re not alone
The University offers external English language training courses.
Registration for these courses is voluntary.
Participation will depend on each candidate.
These courses are open in defined periods and allow you to meet the proficiency requirement, by passing 6 or 8 levels depending on your program.
