Policies

The research, innovation, and technology transfer policies of the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE were determined considering the institution’s strategic objectives and seek to position the development of the university’s scientific and technological research at both national and international levels.

  • Promote scientific research and technological development programs to solve problems in strategic areas for the State, including Security and Defense.
  • Execute innovation and technology transfer activities to offer the university community, the Armed Forces, and society in general support programs through projects, consultancies, advisory services, continuing education courses, non-regular educational services, and cultural, recreational, and sporting activities.
  • Research, innovation, and technology transfer programs and projects will be executed in the university’s departments and centers or other units created for this purpose.
  • The university will allocate 6% of its annual budget to indexed publications, postgraduate scholarships for its professors, and research within the framework of the national development regime, in accordance with the provisions of Art. 36 of the LOES. The distribution and use of said percentage will be controlled by the General Academic Vice-Rectorate.
  • To guarantee the right to training and professional development for professors and researchers, at least one percent (1%) will be allocated in the annual budget, in accordance with the provisions of Article 28 of the LOES.
  • The Rector must submit an annual report to SENESCYT regarding the amounts, in compliance with the provisions of the LOES Regulations.
  • In the exercise of responsible autonomy, appropriate conditions will be established so that, within the framework of the law, teaching is developed, and knowledge is disseminated and constructed with total independence, considering the universality of thought and local and global scientific and technological advances.

Aimed at the study and/or development of knowledge regarding human beings and their different manifestations and needs. Takes into consideration the interaction of social, economic, and natural systems, oriented toward satisfying needs related to security, defense, and society.

Security and Defense

Directed toward the study and/or scientific and technological development in the different fields of national security, defense, and sovereignty, allowing for the defense and/or strengthening of all strategic assets for the country’s defense, the sustainability of life, and the protection of food, energy, technological, ecological, and knowledge sovereignties, among others.
