Scholarships Master's Degrees 2025
The application bases are a description of the process that the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE will use to award master’s scholarships, based on the criteria and requirements of the institutional vision. Therefore, the call, through these application rules, will be subject to the current institutional needs described throughout this document, without prejudice to the provisions of the Regulations on Scholarships and Financial Aid of the University of the Armed Forces -ESPE, Codified, issued with Resolution ESPE-HCU 2021-044 of June 18, 2021.
This document of application bases for ESPE 2025 Scholarships for Academic Master’s Degrees, is conceived as a general route to follow for applicants who wish to apply for a scholarship granted by the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, in terms of scheduling, requirements, criteria, budget and processes related to the granting of scholarship.
OBJECTIVE OF THE MASTER'S SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
To make it possible to grant scholarships to pursue academic master’s degrees aimed at: administrative personnel with appointments, workers, best graduates of each third-level career of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, active military personnel assigned to the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE and, exceptionally, tenured academic personnel who, by institutional requirement, must be trained at that level, in order to study at the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, as well as at national Universities and Higher Education Centers.
JUSTIFICATION
The University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, allocates State resources for the strengthening and improvement of the target group of this call that belongs to the university community. In this context, the granting of master’s scholarships for administrative personnel with appointments and workers, best graduates of third-level careers, tenured academic personnel and active military personnel assigned to the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, contributes to recognizing academic merit, improving the public service and institutional research and of the Armed Forces. in addition to promoting research and fourth-level academic training, allowing to stimulate academic excellence and achieve scientific, cultural and sports achievements.
APPLICANTS
- Appointed administrative staff and University workers.
- The first three places of the best graduates of each third-level career of the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE,
- Personnel on active duty of the Armed Forces assigned to the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, and,
- Exceptionally, when there is an institutional requirement that the tenured academic staff be trained with academic master’s degrees.

The application bases are a description of the process that the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE will use to award postgraduate scholarships, based on the criteria and requirements of the institutional vision. Therefore, the call, through these application rules, will be subject to the current institutional needs of the University and which are described throughout this document, without prejudice to the provisions of the Regulations on Scholarships and Financial Aid of the University of the Armed Forces-ESPE. This document of application bases for ESPE 2025 Scholarships for Doctorates, is conceived as a general route to follow for applicants who wish to apply for a scholarship granted by the University of the Armed Forces – ESPE, in terms of: scheduling, requirements, criteria, budget and processes related to the granting of scholarship; and, in addition, they have been developed to provide the collegiate bodies with a method of priority and selection in the process.
OBJECTIVE OF THE GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
To make the granting feasible and establish the general conditions for the granting of scholarships for continuity or beginning of studies, for the doctoral training of the principal, associate and auxiliary academic staff, in order to pursue studies in national and foreign Higher Education Centers.
JUSTIFICATION
The University of the Armed Forces – ESPE allocates State resources to strengthen capacities and human talent. In this context, the granting of doctoral scholarships for principal, associate and auxiliary academic staff contributes to improving the academic and institutional research level, in addition to promoting research and fourth-level academic training, stimulating academic excellence and scientific achievements.
INSTITUTIONAL NEEDS, ACADEMIC DOMAINS AND LINES OF RESEARCH
Applications for doctoral and postdoctoral degrees submitted by applicants must be framed in the institutional interest and need, based on academic domains and institutional lines of research, considering the following reference:

Security, Defense, and Society
Transversal axis upon which the research domains and lines must be oriented.
Applied Sciences
Oriented to the study, generation of knowledge and scientific and technological development for innovation, invention, development and improvement of techniques and tools that allow responding to needs related to security, defence and society.
Human, Social, and Administrative Sciences
Aimed at the study and/or development of knowledge regarding human beings and their different manifestations and needs. Takes into consideration the interaction of social, economic, and natural systems, oriented toward satisfying needs related to security, defense, and society.
Security and Defense
Aimed at the study and/or scientific and technological development in the different areas of national security, defense and sovereignty that allow the defense and/or strengthening of all those strategic assets for the defense of the country, the sustainability of life and the protection of sovereignties: food, energy, technological, ecological, knowledge, among others.
