The Telecommunications Career of the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas-ESPE trains people in the scientific and technological field under a framework of principles and values; with the ability to apply basic and specialized knowledge to design, evaluate and manage telecommunications systems within a national and international regulatory framework to contribute to the progress of the country and the Armed Forces.

- Program Objectives
- General objective
To train professionals capable of applying basic sciences, using methodological tools for the solution of specific Telecommunications problems, through the analysis, design, improvement, implementation and evaluation of models and strategies of technological innovation, with the capacity to innovate, undertake and conceive telecommunications systems, within a normative frame of reference.
To develop technical skills and specialized knowledge in the design, implementation, maintenance and management of telecommunications systems.
2. Promote research, innovation, entrepreneurship and the integration of emerging technologies to address industry challenges in the field of telecommunications.
3. To foster critical thinking, teamwork and problem solving skills in the context of telecommunications engineering.
4. To train ethical and socially responsible professionals capable of contributing to the sustainable development of the country within the framework of the National Development Plan.

The Telecommunications Engineer is a professional whose training enables him/her to plan, project, design and dimension systems, networks and services for the generation, transmission, detection, handling and management of information in the public and private sectors.

- Graduate Profile
The Telecommunications Engineer of the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas ESPE is able to analyze, design, plan, manage, regulate, operate, develop, implement and integrate technologies related to telecommunications and information processing, applied to solve needs or requirements of civil society and the military, according to national and international standards of telecommunications, within a legal framework of reference, based on electronic systems underlying telecommunications.
- Learning Outcomes
1. Ability to apply mathematical, scientific and technological knowledge to the solution of telecommunications engineering problems.
2. Ability to design and analyze telecommunications systems and devices, including antennas, electronic circuits, VLSI technologies, networks and communication systems.
3. Competence to evaluate and select appropriate technologies to solve specific problems in the field of telecommunications.
4. Ability to integrate different telecommunication technologies in complex systems, and develop innovative solutions based on research.
5. Ability to apply ethical and moral principles in the practice of telecommunications engineering, including privacy, security, environmental and sustainability issues.
6. Ability to lead and participate in multidisciplinary teams for the conception, implementation and maintenance of telecommunications systems.
7. Competence to communicate effectively in oral and written form the concepts related to telecommunications engineering within technical and non-technical audiences.
8. Ability to continuously and autonomously learn about technological and regulatory changes in the telecommunications industry throughout their professional practice.
